All I have to say is "Wow!".
Unset reboot host, reset - boot guest to make a setting stick.... it's coded wrong someplace! I'm going to try it but how often am I going to have to reset a setting that was set.
This started when i updated to 9.0.3 and re-installed vmware tools.
Rebooting the host is a particularly ridiculous step.

Backup the /etc/vmware/hostd/config.xml file with the command:
cp /etc/vmware/hostd/config.xml /var/tmp/
Edit the /etc/vmware/hostd/config.xml file so that it looks like the following:
0 (This line allows the virtual machine to power on.)
true
Restart the Management agents. For more information, see Restarting the Management agents on an ESX or ESXi Server (1003490).
Start the virtual machines.
Hmmm, OK......I wasn't aware of that since there is an abundance of activity on the subject,with many prebuilt images.
After further research, I guess it is legal ONLY IF you have a legal copy to start with and are only making a certain number of virtual machines to run on the original MAC hardware.
But that's beyond the scope of just VMWare Player.
Are you sure the Windows 2008 VM's IP address is 192.168.54.2? Please verify this by running ipconfig from the command line in the VM.

Hi, I have a Win7 program I'd like to run in a VMWare Fusion6 VM. The creators say to use Bootcamp or Parallels to run it on a MAC which I don't want to do.
I can install into a Fusion6 Win7 VM OK but when I try to run it, it won't run, saying it doesn't run in a Virtual Machine. I can get it to run using monitor_control.restrict_backdoor = "TRUE" in the vmx file but then VMWare Tools crashes on the VM. Is there any way to get around this so I can have the program and VMWare Tools running together?

I'm curious, do you ever try using a search engine like Google before posting questions!? I'd say that the answers to 99.99% of the questions you ask have already been asked and answered before or in some cases is already sitting right in front of you... Case in point, while you've booted to the EFI Firmware have you even bothered to walk through all of the menu items!? Obviously not, because if you had you'd know that under the Boot Maintenance Manager there is Configure screen size. Also changing the screen size is not really necessary because you can do just like you can in many other Shells/Terminals and use the Shift + Page Up (or Shift + Up Arrow) and Shift + Page Down (or Shift + Down Arrow) or other modifier key combos to move up and down in the output buffer.
In many Shells/Terminals there are ways to prevent scrolling however the unsupported EFI Internal Shell does not have the typical *nix type commands (like less, more, head and tail) to pipe output through and hence you may need to scroll the output buffer to read it all! 
Some additional questions:
How does one determine if Fusion decided to use disk buffering or not?
How does one determine which Virtualization engine was chosen?
- Can changing this impact the performance in a positive way?

Why pay for redistribution of a Windows 2003 PE to Microsoft when the hotclone procedure is supposed to be able to handle all cases ?
There also seems to be no significant demand for such a LiveCD.
I do not get a lot of requests nowadays ... and the coldclone-construction kit I have on my site does not get a lot of downloads these days.
Actually a coldclone CD never was really necessary - it was just a little bit more convenient then other methods ...
Yes I am. I upgraded everything to version 5.3 and recompose my pools.
I also tried it with Firefox and Chrome with the same results.
With View 5.3 and HTML access client 2.2, you can copy and paste in both directions. Please verify whether your GPOs allow this.
When you use a zero client, you would not be able to use RTAV. So I assume you are using USB redirection to redirect the device (headset) back to the guest VM.
Where do you see that error message?

I feel a bit foolish now but I swear those icons were not present when I first was the response.
If the program is testing specifically for a VMware Virtual Machine and not Parallels (assuming since you were told you could use it) I'd say the answer was no.
Just curious what is the name of the program and who is the manufacture?
